How did it all get started?
30 years ago, I had an idea to own my own meat business—not just any meat, but premium meats. Because premium protein is the kind I wanted my own family to eat. It’s healthier, tastier, and means the animals, the environment and the farmers themselves are better off. That’s when I came across a tiny meat company called Wayne Provisions. With just enough for a down payment, I bought them. I made a lot of changes to Wayne, the biggest being the move to premium meats. The business grew steadily as top chefs and restaurants heard about our reputation for offering the best of the best prime beef, pork, poultry, veal, lamb, wild game and seafood—all delivered fresh, never frozen.
We changed the name to Premier Meat about 13 years ago to reflect the fact that no one offers better quality meats than we do. That sounds like an overstatement but one bite and you know it’s true. The taste and texture, the freshness and feel, the superior quality and the way it performs on the grill or in the skillet let you know these animals lived well.
